First week back after our half term break and already we are so busy with our learning! Here is a brief review of what's been happening this week ...
We have began our history enquiry by looking at various images depicting the roman empire and deciding whether we think they are primary or secondary pieces of evidence before then working out what they can tell us about life in the roman empire! We also came up with our own questions about the roman empire and the impact their invasion had upon the people of Britain. Now we can't wait until our visit to Norwich Castle museum to explore this further.
Our introduction to Design & Technology has started really well with the children of Badger Class being set the task of getting creative with their fonts! They were tasked with writing 'Design & Technology' in a creative and unusual way, thinking about where they are able to see letter shapes in everyday objects. There were some fantastic pieces! The children were then tasked with sharing what they already know about this subject and then what questions they have about our learning this half term, with some very interesting observations being made!
We began our English learning by writing a set of instructions to help any visitors into our school to understand the end of the day routine in Badger Class; then over the next two days we practised our selection and application of prepositions to provide clarity of instruction before returning to edit and improve our original writing. We have also been exploring instruction writing by learning the outdoor skill of knot tying, hopefully this will help us when we begin to build our invertebrate hotel later this half term!
We have also created our synonym wall of this half term's key vocabulary to help support our learning.
